Hi guys,
I don’t know if anyone of you have ever heard of this plant,

but I’m quite sure, that most of the European citizens have already seen it. Most of them don’t even know, that this plant doesn’t belong to Europe, but to Asia. I recently recognized an increase of that invasive plant which often overgrows local plants and therefore steals their habitats. Maybe this growth could get very dangerous in future, because I noticed that the habitats have changed very fast over the last years. What do you think about this issue?

I recently tried to figure out simple ways to save energy and resources in my everyday life and I came to the point where I thought: “wait a minute … I could blog this and ask others about their impressions!“.
I want to sum up some simple ideas which are very easy to realize for everybody in a developed country.
That’s why I’m asking YOU. What are you doing to save energy and resources?
Here are some of my ideas. I would appreciate if the one or the other could realize some (or all) of them. Most of them are a result of common sense and I’m often shocked when I see people who disregard these simple things:
Water
- When brushing your teeth, the water doesn’t need to go down the sink. This also refers to the shower (when you soap yourself). That’s not neccessary.
- Even if it’s very comfortable to take a shower for a long time – don’t do it.
- You don’t have to wash your clothes after you have worn them only once. Actually, excessive washing will damage your clothes. If they aren’t dirty, why wash them? And if they are niffy, try to air them instead.
Trash
- Try to avoid buying things which are excessively packaged.
- Use deposit bottles where possible.
Fossil fuels
- When driving your car, avoid using the air conditioning. Switch off your headlights if possible. This helps to reduce the mileage and reduces the emissions.
Electricity
- Unplug your electronic devices physically. Most devices still need electricity even when switched off. If you are unsure, unplug the fuse of your flat.
- Try to use energy saving lamps.
- Switch off the light when you leave a room.
I think that everyone could do these simple things without any big effort, so DO IT!
It also helps your moneybag.
I would also like to hear comments and ideas from you.
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE:
Thanks a lot to stechan for posting his ideas, I really appreciate that! And because of the point with the headlights I have to say that I also think that switching on your headlights is safer, even during daytime. But it also reduces the mileage if switched off … that’s a point which has potential for a discussion.

hi out there,
I just changed the theme of the blog because I think, that this one is a bit more readable than the one I had before. Criticism is welcome, but might be ignored if I don’t like it
.
So far. have a nice day!

It’s been a while since my last posting, shame on me, but now I’m providing some information for the curious. On the 24. of September I’ll undergo a small arthroscopy on my left ankle because there is a small bone particle which hurts when doing sports. The doctors told me that they will cut out this little fragment. I guess that this bone particle is a result of my last injury (broke my heel a year ago). Well … I hope after this small surgery I will be free of pain when doing sports. I’ll catch up with this topic as soon as I had this procedure.
