new week, new article.
This weekend I tuned my little slackeee and installed the recently released 2.6.27.1 linux kernel. I did this because I read on the Changelog that ath5k now really supports the built-in chip of the first generation eeePC. I already tried to use ath5k in the past and failed, but the Changelog sounded very optimistic with this version so I gave it a try and now it works!
So far, I don’t need madwifi anymore because everything comes straight from the kernel itself. I can’t tell you how happy I am!
UPDATE:
YES! I also read that 2.6.28 will have support for the Attansic network chip too!
