Also there is macchanger which can pick a random vendor MAC or a completely random MAC.

Syntax (as root of course):
ifconfig wlan0 down
macchanger –mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 wlan0
or
macchanger -a wlan0
ifconfig wlan0 up

The -a flag is pretty handy for this task.

Ich weiß zwar nicht ob Perl den Trinitäts Operator kennt, aber wenn dem so ist, dann ginge deines noch ein wenig kürzer:

Habs auch mal probiert… bin auf 170 Zeichen gekommen:

hi stephen,

If the 1000 has the same wireless chipset as the 901 (Ralink 2860), you have to compile your kernel to support it. I don’t know how familiar you are with configuring the kernel, so here a small step-by-step howto:

become root

cd /usr/src/linux
make menuconfig
activate General Setup –> Prompt for development and/or incomplete drivers
go back to main menu
activate Device Drivers –> Staging Drivers –> Ralink 2860 Wireless Support
go back to main menu and quit (save your configuration if asked)

make all
(this may take a long time … get some coffee)

make modules_install
cp arch/x86/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-eee
cd /boot
rm vmlinuz
ln -s vmlinuz-eee vmlinuz
lilo
reboot

I hope this helps you. I don’t know if the 1000 has the same chipset, but according to wikipedia it has …
